Gautam Adani’s son’s grand engagement ceremony

Marriages are occasions that call for big celebrations, and this is what the guests at this engagement ceremony witnessed.
It was a big fat engagement night as biz tycoon Gautam Adani’s son Karan got engaged to Paridhi Shroff. With a heavyduty guest list that comprised business biggies, social luminaries, political heavyweights, the event was a grand ensemble of popular faces. Chief Minister Narendra Modi was also present at the engagement ceremony to bless the couple.
The list of the guests present in the ceremony included Jaydip Patel, Jaynarayan Vyas, Jitendra Chauhan, Venu Chauhan, Nitin Patel, Pradip Chauna, Ramnik Ambani, Saurabh Patel, Sonal and Vimal Ambani, Ravi Saxena and others from the business world.
The newly engaged couple looked happy to be together and were seen completely enjoying the proceedings.

Adani-Shroff Wedding in Goa

Paridhi, daughter of Cyril Shroff, the co-owner of one of India’s most influential law firms, weds Karan, the son of Shipping Tycoon Gautam Adani. And the venue for what is expected to be the Destination Wedding of the season is Grand Hyatt, Goa. While the affair in Goa is expected to be a power-packed celebration with business and legal luminaries, the post wedding reception at the Adani Shipping port town Mundra will be a giant celebration, with over 10,000 guests.
In 2011, Paridhi’s brother Rishabh married Saloni, from Jaipur’s renowned Surana Jewellers family, and the lavish wedding was held at the Jaigarh Fort. Karan Adani, a graduate of Purdue University, is Dr Priti and Gautam Adani’s elder son. He is the presently the Executive Director of Adani Ports and SEZ.
After Paridhi and Karan’s wedding celebrations are over on 13th February, the same venue plays host to another big wedding from 16th to 18th February. The Shah and Sheth alliance, Mumbai based Shahs of Everest Masala and the Sheth Builders.

‘Ring’ in the good news

There’s light at the end of a tunnel, really. After a string of controversies and unpleasant news rocked the Adani empire, there’s celebration in the household. Gujarat’s first billionaire and country’s biggest wealth creator last year Gautam Adani’s elder son Karan has got engaged.
Your diarist is glad to share the good news that Karan is all set to wed Mumbai-based Paridhi Shroff, daughter of Cyril Shroff (his firm Amarchand Mangaldas is one of the top legal firms in India and hires over 550 lawyers across the country) and prominent lawyer Vandana Shroff. Paridhi herself has been to a law school.
This reminds your diarist of the flashy Jaipur wedding some months ago where Nita and Tina Ambani along with mom-in-law Kokilaben were decked up in exquisite finery. It was Paridhi’s brother Rishabh’s marriage to Saloni of the famous Surana Jewellers’ family. But Karan’s engagement was a low-key affair. Though your diarist can confidently say that the soon-to-be Amdavadi bahu looked awesome.
Karan, armed with a management degree from Purdue University in the US, is the Executive Director of Adani Ports and SEZ Limited. He is more interested in ports, power and logistics than in real estate and lobbying. And, he does not take his father’s riches for granted. Your diarist learnt that Karan went to Mundra, Kutch, by train. Amazing, considering that his father owns not one but two airplanes. Gautam Adani sure has thought up of an excellent way to to ‘train’ his successor.
After Congress-levelled allegations that Modi doled out favours to Gautam Adani made national headlines, it will be amusing to see Congress politicians (who’re currently shouting anti-Adani slogans, mind you!) queue up at the Karan-Paridhi wedding reception. Your diarist is pretty sure of spotting everyone from Kamal Nath and Sharad Pawar to Praful Patel there. It will also be the most talked-about reception of the year, even if ‘low-key’!
